Hdd tray

Hdd tray: "

A parametric desing of a harddisk -tray for 3.5' harddisks.

You can use it to design your own hdd-enclosures or hdd-racks.

The air-holes are large and deep enough that you should be able

to take the tray out without an additional grip

You can use the holes in the bottom or the side to mount it.

As you wish.

If you feel like it, please add mounting-holes for a ventilator.

Lego crawler town

Lego crawler town: "

crawlertown.jpg

I don't think I've ever seen as unique a Lego creation as this 'eco punk' mobile town, created by Dave DeGobbi. (Click for a bigger pic!)

Crawler town roams the barren wastes of a post steam-punk world after cataclysmic climate change do to excessive coal use. Several such cities exist but Crawler town is the most popular due to the Aero 500 hydrogen fuel cell Air races that are held. Many people travel the wastes to Crawler town for vacation and to enjoy rare luxuries like Pizza, fresh vegetables and Beer. Travelling the wastes in search of minerals and aquifers ( vital for survival) the mobility of the city keeps it away from the vicious sand storms of the wastes.

Automatic post: Autonomous rover

Here is my answer to an realy good start if you want to create a Autonomous rover, built with an Arduino.

projects is super easy:) 3d printing and build, mount the servo motor and wheels.

One Tool to make them all

Kleinwerkzeug
Großwerkzeug
Aufbewahrung: (nicht von mir)

UPDATE: I have moved this to the objects.reprap.org -wiki.

XY-table

Playing around with Alibre this sunday I though that maybe the design challence I opened (get 10 mendel parts for designing a printable xy-table) was too hard.
So I designed the basic frame myself:
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1831
Slowly I´m really getting up to speed on this amazing program.

With one small modification this should be easily printable but I deliberately left some things to be done. Just so as to still inspire people to finish the contest.

RepTap - self replicating plasma cutter

Ok, we all know the RepRap by now.
An open source 3d-printer that can print most of it´s own parts.

What I just heard was one giant step further:

A CNC PLASMA CUTTER.

heated print bed for RepMan

So here is my attempt at a heated printing-bed for the RepMan.

power:
I found these 37W heating-pads and a matching 120W power-supply
that I can manually regulate between 15V(62.5%) and 24V(100%).
I´m not using a temprature-probe to keep a target-temperature yet.

surface:
I´ll try to attach them to the underside of a copper-plate.
Experiments of other people have shoan ABS to still reasonably well to copper but very badly to aluminium.
If that does not stick I can always get KaptonTape for the surface.

mounting:
To isolate the plate against the temperature-sensitive polyacrylic-parts of the RepMan I´m going to use a ceramic wall tile like prusajr did here.
But I will not keep it in place using clamps but with screws, oversized, long holes for these screws and large washers.

thermal expansion:
That should allow the copper to expand in XY-direction so it does not expant too much in z direction while not interfering with the cross-supports of the RepMan during movement around the z-axis.
